I am currently developing a series of mixed media works that explore the deconstruction of the plane and volume of the landscape and stones. As part of an exploratory series on the density of matter, in this tapestry I use the visual texture achieved by the threads to “trick the eye” by simulating a reconstruction of the interior of a stone. As if it were a cut that allows us to glimpse what is happening inside, this small piece is a part of the whole, which is a recurring theme in my work. I try to look at a detail of the whole, and that detail, at the same time, is a whole. A whole that is made up of its own details.

Using the vertical tapestry technique, with this work I advance a little in that search for the portrait of matter, without having as a goal the representation, but rather the experience of the subjective evocation of the stone. The matter helps, because the rectangular format makes it clear that this reality is fragmented and it is not possible to recover it, but only to remember it.
